Garden Bloggers' Bloom Day - April 2013

Still not much in bloom
The garden is almost suspended in time.

Galanthus Sam Arnott, I know snowdrops should have finished flowering long ago, but they haven't.

Crocus tommasinianus, these shouldn't be around either.

Daffodils, but these flower in April don't they ?  Erm, well no actually, because these are the dwarf varieties that usually flower at the same time as the crocus.

Helleborus orientalis, okay these did start flowering on time, but they also spent a lot of last month buried under snow.

And finally, a couple of baskets of violas. At least some plants know what time of year it is.

If you want to see what's in bloom around the world today, why not pop over to May Dreams Gardens where Carol is hosting this meme.

  1. Tegoroczna wiosna jest taka spóźniona, że kwiatki kwitną w innym czasie niz powinny. Mimo wszystko są śliczne i cieszą nas. Pozdrawiam.
This year's spring is so late that the flowers bloom at different times than they should. After all, they are beautiful and they enjoy us. Yours.

  2. Pretty no matter when they bloom but spring needs to hurry along. It's similar here with blooms staying longer than usual. We don't have the cold or snow so not quite the same.

  3. I'm hoping that we will take a giant leap into May, then we can all put this long, long winter behind us! Your violas are looking tremendous. I can't seem to keep them going for long!

  5. We seem to be very much at the same stage. Surprising rate of growth in the past few days now that we are out of the 5/6f

  6. Spring has certainly been rather strange this year. I still have Hellebores and Narcissus in full bloom! I hope your Violas are still going strong, they look beautiful.
